In May 2019, we jumped straight into work on our Rock Ferry project, which would go on to be the Old Police Lodge at 39 Well Lane. The transformation marked a significant chapter in the building's well-storied history. Concluding in May 2020, the project reached its culmination, unveiling 6 contemporary apartments with 15 en-suites to the Birkenhead market. The Gross Development Value (GDV) of this endeavor achieved an impressive £850,000.00, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail invested in every aspect of our refurbishment process.

Erected in 1926, the building operated as the Well Lane Police Station from its inauguration in 1928 until 2015, when it was put up for sale. The building garnered plenty of attention thereafter, with the local council turning down proposed plans from Kids Planet Day Nurseries to convert the vacant space into a daycare centre. Once we discovered the building, we recognized a promising chance to develop new homes and promptly submitted our planning application, ultimately gaining approval in 2018.

With our goal being to preserve the architectural heritage of the site, we successfully created all 6 apartments, each thoughtfully designed for modern living, all while retaining the building's history.

The strategic location places the residents within a 10-minute walk from Prenton Park, the home of Tranmere Rovers Football Club, offering a sports enthusiast's haven. Meanwhile, residents can enjoy a leisurely 20-minute walk to Rock Ferry Beach, embracing the scenic beauty of the area.

The local surroundings only further enhance the lifestyle offered by our apartments.

Bowling, bars, pubs, and clubs are all within walking reach, providing residents with a diverse range of recreational choices.

The interiors of the apartments are, as always, a testament to modern aesthetics, ensuring a seamless blend of past and present. Completed with beds, drawers, desks, wall décor, rugs, and more, the bedrooms harmonize effortlessly with the kitchen and dining areas.

Grey walls, white skirting boards, white cabinets, and bright laminate flooring create a consistent and visually appealing atmosphere for the residents.

In essence, the Old Police Lodge at 39 Well Lane stands not just as a collection of stylish apartments but as a tribute to adaptive reuse, breathing new life into a historic structure, which is what we are all about. More Photos
